Position Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Central Station Operator to join our team at Advanced Alarms. In this role, we provide a high level of customer service to both our alarm and inbound call centre clients.
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor incoming alarm signals, video surveillance, and access control events.

Verify alarm signals and follow proper dispatch protocols.

Communicate with emergency responders and clients as needed.

Document all activity and maintain accurate logs in the system.
-
Perform remote system checks and routine status verifications.
-
Escalate issues to supervisors or technical teams when appropriate.
-
Ensure compliance with industry regulations, privacy laws, and company policies.

Handling inbound calls both emergency and non, prioritize accordingly

Provide basic trouble shooting for alarm clients or providing contact by a service technician
Requirements:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required
-
Clear criminal record check
-
Typing speed of 40-45 wpm
-
Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.

Previous experience in alarm monitoring, dispatch, or customer service (asset).

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
-
Ability to stay calm and focused under pressure.
-
Strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy.
-
Comfortable using computer systems and multi-line phone systems.
-
Availability for shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Alarm Technician /
Alarm Technician Assistant
Position Overview:
Job Type: [Full-Time / Part-Time]
We are looking for a motivated and reliable Alarm Technician to join our team. This is an ideal role for someone beginning their career in electronic security or low-voltage systems. You’ll work under the supervision of experienced technicians to assist in the installation, maintenance, and support of security systems including surveillance cameras, access control, alarms, and intercoms.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the installation and setup of security equipment on job sites

Pull and terminate cabling (Cat5e/6, low-voltage communication and power)

Mount and connect devices such as cameras, keypads, door strikes, and various sensors
-
Learn to read and follow plans, wiring diagrams, and job specifications
-
Support technicians in testing, troubleshooting, and configuring systems
-
Keep job sites clean and organized; maintain tools and inventory
-
Communicate professionally with team members and customers
-
Follow company safety practices and wear appropriate PPE
-
Participate in on-the-job training and occasional formal courses
-
Willingness to travel locally and occasionally work after hours or weekends as needed
Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

Interest in electronics, security systems, or IT/networking

Basic understanding of tools, wiring, and hand-held meters (training provided)

Willingness to learn and follow directions

Strong work ethic and punctuality

Good communication and teamwork skills

Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Ability to pass a criminal background check
Nice to Have (Not Required):

Technical diploma or coursework in electronics, electrical, or IT

Previous experience in construction, low-voltage, or related trades

Familiarity with tools like drills, ladders, or cable testers

Safety certifications (e.g., WHMIS, Working at Heights)
